Samantha Monteith

Samantha Monteith, Staff Assistant, U.S. Department of State

Samantha currently serves as a Staff Assistant in the Front Office of the Bureau of Political Military Affairs. She comes to PM from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) where she worked as a Program Assistant in the Office of Alumni Affairs and as a student intern. Before joining ECA, Samantha worked as a research assistant at American University, focusing on the relationship between DoD and State Department. In August 2020, she graduated from American University’s School of International Service with an MA in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security. Prior to grad school, Samantha taught English as a second language in Japan with the JET Program and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kosovo. In 2015, she earned her BA in History from North Greenville University. She is from Charleston, S.C. and enjoys playing the violin, hiking, and cocktails in her free time.
